Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' was released in 1983. Therefore, obviously music video production and editing were a little bit different. What I like in this video is when Michael steps on each square of the pavement and it lits up to the beat of the music. It is an interesting technique and works very well with the dance moves Michael is introducing to the audience as well as beats in the music. As I watched the video I noticed that everything he touches lights up. this is interesting and easy to do nowadays compared to when this music video was being edited and put together.
1. What you like about it; what inspires you, what is 'good' about it?
2. What makes you keep watching?
3. What interesting techniques/ideas/shots have they used that you might use? (use prompts from all the reviewing we have been doing...performance, camera, editing, content, lighting etc)
4. What have you learnt in relation to Music Videos generally from watching this particular video?
5. Is there anything you should AVOID?
